The Business Office is led by the Business Manager, who reports directly to the Chief of Police and oversees the Department's administrative and fiscal operations. Replacing the former Deputy Chief of Police position, this role reflects the Department's move toward greater use of professional civilian staff to manage functions that don't require sworn law enforcement expertise.

The Business Office handles the Department's contracts, grants, and procurement processes, including the preparation and review of Requests for Proposals (RFPs) for outside vendors and service providers. The team also manages grant applications and ongoing compliance for federal, state, and local funding sources that support Department programs and equipment, along with budget tracking and other fiscal administration.

In addition to these functions, the Business Manager oversees the Records Unit and supervises the Management Analysts who provide administrative support across the Department.
